Here an example of a construction of an amplifier with an AMP51RTC controller.

Description

The appliance is based on the AMP51RTC design extended by two dual integrated amplifiers. The used chips TDA7293 from ST are modern IC, which do not suffer from the draw backs of integrated amplifiers of the old days. They drive 4 Ohm loads without problems. In this circuit two TDA7293 drive in parallel one channel to get a high output power. Furthermore the chips have a clipping detector, which is used by the µC to reduce the volume if necessary. To save energy the controller and the preamp are powered by a small separate transformer and the amplifier is switched off by the µC via a relais.
